Structure and Functions

The Department is structured into (2) Divisions namely:

  1. Monitoring and Compliance; and
  2. Coordination

Functions

  1. Managing the pool of surveyors in the Federal Civil Service;
  2. Production and updating of technical manuals; instructions and specifications(s) for surveying and mapping projects;
  • Coordinating survey activities all over the country in line with the Survey Co-ordination Act of 1962 and its amendments;
  1. Creating/updating the geospatial data bank for the Federal Government;
  2. Monitoring all survey activities in the country in liason with the States Surveyor-General; and
  3. Coordinating the activities of Federal School of Surveying, Oyo and the Surveyor Registration Council of Nigeria (SURCON)
